Draper, CPA, MBA Jim Draper has practiced public accounting in Frederick, MD for over 34 years. Formerly a member of the faculty at Mount Saint Mary's College, Emmitsburg, MD (as well as a graduate of their accounting program), he has broad experience in the field of taxation with concentrations in real estate and start-ups. His 20-year bank board membership experience has afforded him a unique opportunity to bring creditors and lenders together. An active member of the business community, he has chaired the Heartly House board, been President of the Rotary Club of Fredericktowne, served as an officer in the Frederick Jaycees and the Monocacy Aquatic Club.Jim is also a member of the AICPA,the MACPA and the Catoctin Land Trust. Michael A. McGinley, CPA Michael McGinley has practiced public accounting in Frederick and Hagerstown for over 35 years. While providing tax planning and accounting services, his speciality is in estate planning and administration. Michael is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, licensed through the National Institute for Excellence in Professional Education. Michael is a member of the AICPA and the MACPA. Michael graduated from Mount Saint Mary's with an accounting degree. Joyce A. Draper, CPA Joyce Draper has 31 years of experience in providing accounting and tax services to businesses and individuals, including consulting with new businesses, problem solving on an ongoing basis and preparation of financial statements. She also prepares tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships and not-for-profit organizations. Ms.Draper serves on the President's Council of Mount Saint Mary's College, where she graduated with an accounting degree. She also is on the board of the Frederick area Shakespeare Project and a member of the AICPA and the MACPA. Ms. Draper and Mr. McGinley head up the firm's pension plan third party administration (TPA) division. Catharine V. Fairley, CPA/PFS, CFP® Catharine Fairley is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ practitioner with the Draper McGinley Planning Group, as well as a CPA with Draper & McGinley, PA. Catharine graduated from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Summa Cum Laude, and moved to the United States in 1987. She has over 24 years of experience in providing financial, tax and investment planning advice as well as assisting local attorneys with the tax and financial planning aspects of divorce. She is collaboratively trained in divorce settlements as a financial neutral. She has served on the board of the Maryland Society of the Institute for Certified Financial Planners and is currently a member of the Financial Planning Association and its National Capital Area group, as well as the MACPA and the AICPA. She is a board member of the oldest company in Frederick, Frederick Mutual Insurance Company, a local property and casualty insurance carrier,The Community Foundation of Frederick County and the Carroll Creek Rotary Club. She has also served on the Board of Directors of Heartly House, Mother Seton School and other local charities. Ms. Fairley has had several articles on planning topics published and has been profiled in the New York Times for a family money makeover. She is currently a regular tax columnist for the Frederick News Post Business Week and speaks regularly to various groups in the area on financial and tax planning matters. Note: Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP® , CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and federally registered CFP (with flame logo), which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements. Michele Mills, CPA Michele Mills has practiced public accounting in Frederick County for over 19 years, since graduating from Frostburg State with an accounting degree. Michele manages the firm's audit division and has broad experience with profit and not-for-profit entities. She is also well known in the area for her work in municipal accounting, managing city and county government audits in the past. In addition, she has experience in A-133 audits, which the firm currently offers as a service. Ms. Mills is also a member of the AICPA and the MACPA and serves on the Finance Committee for the Frederick County Commission for Women. She has had numerous accounting articles published locally.
